Turkish Tourism Income Continues to Increase

Tourism Statistics, Quarter I: January-March, 2023

Tourism income increased by 32.3%
 
In the first quarter which is January, February and March of 2023 tourism income increased by 32.3% and reached to 8 billion 690 million 505 thousand dollars. 20.8% of tourism income was obtained from Turkish citizens resident abroad.

Visitors organise their travel individually or with package tour. While individual expenditures constituted 7 billion 503 million 255 thousand dollars of the total tourism income, 1 billion 187 million 249 thousand dollars of tourism income was obtained by package tour expenditures.

Number of departing visitors increased by 26.8%

In this quarter, number of departing visitors increased by 26.8% compared to same quarter of previous year and reached to 8 million 181 thousand 566 persons. 20.4% of the visitors was Turkish citizens resident abroad with 1 million 672 thousand 332 people.

In this quarter, the average expenditure per night of visitors departing from our country was 84 dollars. The average expenditure per night of Turkish citizens resident abroad was 69 dollars.
