Economic Co-operation with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's main exports to Türkiye are natural gas, crude oil, cotton, gas oil, plastics, aluminum, methanol (methyl alcohol), coal tar oils, copper, electricity, lubricants, raw hides, and tanned leather, lead, jet fuel. The main import products from Türkiye are machinery, equipment, ferrous metals, clothing, plastics, other chemicals, dry vehicles, pharmaceuticals, aluminum, furniture, fruits and vegetables, baby diapers, sanitary napkins, detergents, baby food, flour, confectionery, paper-cardboard, oilseeds and bars, medicinal and technical plants, shoes, paints, tools made of precious metals.

On the 25th of February 2020, the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye signed the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) to promote preferential trade between the two countries. According to the agreement, 15 items of goods (agricultural and processed products) and annual tariff quotas on these goods will be agreed upon by both sides. Import duties on these products have been reduced to 0% within the annual tariff quotas.

 

In the last 5 years, the trade turnover between our countries has been as follows.

Türkiye is one of the largest investors in the Azerbaijani economy. So far, more than 13,000 Turkish companies operating in Azerbaijan have invested about US$ 12.6 billion in Azerbaijan's economy.
